Rule of wolves by Leigh Bardugo

Jasmine, Grade 9

Tensions are rising in Ravca. A battle on the horizon. Forgein pressures are forcing young King Nikolai to act. Nikolai faces off clever and cruel rulers, all for the country that only seems to take. But can the clever fox outwit the wolf and eagle. Zoya stands by the King's side while trying to figure out her place in the world. Blessed by ancient Saints, Zoya explores the power that has freed and binded her. In Fjerda, Nina has secured a position within the capital, taking down Fjerda from the inside. Risking her life to help Ravca and heal her heart. Taking attacks from all sides, three heroes fight to fix their world and find peace.

Rule of Wolves is the amazing conclusion to the King of Scars duology. The plot is action filled and is constantly changing the stakes. The characters are well thought out and rounded as people. The characters and their interactions were my favourite part of this book. We get to explore more of the Grishaverse as the characters leave Ravca. The multiple points of view allow us to have a more complex story line with three main characters arcs. I would recommend Rule of Wolves to friends. A must read for any fan of Leigh Bardugo’s previous works or a YA fantasy reader. I give this book 4/5.
