Get a Library Card
Barrie and Oro-Medonte Residents
If you live in Barrie or Oro-Medonte, fill out our online application form and receive your library card number by email to immediately begin accessing our Digital Library resources!
Visit us in person with your driver's license, photo ID card or two pieces of identification to pick up your library card and check out books, DVDs, video games, and more.
You may also be eligible for a membership if you:
- Work in Barrie
- Attend school in Barrie (Kindergarten to post-secondary)
- Own property or a business in Barrie
- Belong to Midland or Orillia Public Library AND live in Midland or Orillia
- Live on a First Nations Reserve
- Are Military personnel stationed at CFB Borden
- Are a temporary resident or visiting Barrie (requires proof of temporary address; includes limited borrowing privileges)
Visit us at any library location to become a member. Make sure to bring your current name and address identification along with the documents outlined on our Types of Identification page.
Buy a Membership
If you are not eligible for a free membership, you can purchase an annual membership for $100. For unlimited access to thousands of books, eBooks, audiobooks, musical instruments, video games, gardening tools, sports equipment and more, it's a steal of a deal! Renew your card
Have a library card but it's expired? There are a few easy ways to renew!
- Fill out our online Renew a Card form and our staff will update your account within 48 hours.
- Visit us in person at any location - be sure to bring current and valid identification with you.
- Call 705-728-1010, option #3; please have your library card number handy.
Replacing a Card
If your library card is lost or stolen, please contact us as soon as possible by email, phone 705-728-1010, option #3 or in person at any location. We can put a stop on your account and issue you a new card.
