Library Visits

Request an in-person or online class visit or invite us to attend your school event! 

Explore the resources students can borrow with a library card and gain access to databases and topic guides that will support academic and leisure learning. Open a world of possibility to your students as they develop basic search skills in a online, interactive, program designed for the grade level of your class. Select one of our visit focus areas and use the online booking request form to schedule your FREE visit.

Outdoor School Classroom

You’re invited to book a fun-filled 30 minute library discovery session in your outdoor classroom. Let us capture the attention of your primary students with fun activities and stories. We are available for single or multiple outdoor classroom visits and ready to equip your students with library cards for learning.

Elementary Students – Kindergarten to Grade 6.

Explore Your Library

Open a world of possibilities, learn about all the interesting items you can borrow with a Barrie Public Library Card. Teachers, provide us with your unit of study and we will feature resources from our collection. Students will enjoy an overview of our Library resources.

Summer Reading Club

Inspire your students to READ this summer. Join the Barrie Public Library online for an introduction to our Summer Reading Club designed to foster a love of reading with activities, programs and prizes. This free program is accessible to all your students with online options that everyone will enjoy. Discover all the interesting items students can borrow with a Barrie Public Library Card.

Elementary Students – Kindergarten to Grade 6.
Duration: 30 minutes 

School Database Instruction

Teach your students research skills. Let our knowledgeable and dedicated staff show you our databases, how to find reliable research and more. These sessions can be customized to your class assignment.

Recommended for Intermediate and Secondary Students (Grades 7-12)

School Community Visit

This is an onsite visit for any School BBQ, Welcome to Kindergarten's, Parent Teacher Nights and more. This presentation provides your school community with an over-arching discussion of the value having a Barrie Public Library card can bring to your families.
