The meltdown is about how Greg Heffley’s middle school shuts down during the winter, due to extreme weather conditions. His neighborhood turns into chaos, with rival groups fighting, issues involving snow forts and ultimate snowball fights. Some of the main characters of the book are: Greg Heffely who’s the protagonist of the book, he’s in middle school and lives with his family of five and has the life of many middle schoolers. The second lead character is Rowley Jefferson, who’s Greg’s best friend in middle school and lastly the antagonists of the book is the Mingo kids who are a group of kids who live in the jungle. The book is about Greg and Rowely who fight with the Mingo kids during winter. I personally enjoyed it because   one of my favourite times of year is winter. This book is for most known to be a childhood classic. The book seems to have lots of winter and childhood like scenes and personally reminds me of a cold and cozy winter. I would recommend this book to anyone who’s interested and looking for a fun and light-hearted book to read or if you’re looking for a fun classic childhood read. It teaches a good lesson while being a fun, lighthearted, cozy winter read. I would also recommend this for children because it has very childlike elements to it that remind me of my childhood and would remind a lot of other people theirs. I think people from the ages of 9 - 16 would enjoy this book.
