Chalice of The Gods by Rick Riordan

By Anna, grade nine

The novel Chalice of The Gods by Rick Riordan is about the end of Percy Jackson’s journey with the gods, or so he believes.

Percy Jackson is a half blood (half human, half Greek god), he is the son of the sea god Poseidon and after enduring countless battles, quests, and dangerous journeys with his friends to help save the world in the past books, he is finally done and is beginning the transition from high school to college, or so he thinks.

Percy believes this is the start of a normal teenage life that he’s always wanted, but the gods have more in store for him, per usual. Percy must fulfill three full quests to receive a letter of recommendation from Mount Olympus to his school.

This book is definitely a 9/10 and if your a big fan of Percy Jackson, this one is for you. It’s jampacked with adventure, humour, and amazing well written iconic characters that will make you smile and laugh throughout the whole book.

The book is about Percy enduring more battles, puzzles, and fights to complete three big quests. The first quest which is given to him by Ganymede, the cupbearer of gods, is to retrieve the lost chalice of the gods before any of the Olympians or gods realise it’s gone. If you drink from the cup, you become immortal. Even if you’re human, you become immortal, so it’s very vital to get it back before it falls into the wrong hands.
