On Saturday, December 26, we are entering a Provincewide Shutdown. Our region is expected to remain in this shutdown until at least January 23, 2021.
Beginning Monday December 28:
- Patrons will be able to pick-up holds at the front entrances on a drop-in basis or by scheduling an Express Pick-up appointment. Both Barrie Public Library buildings will be closed to in-person visits.
- Returns will be accepted at both outdoor return slots 24/7. Returned items are quarantined before being checked in and may stay on your account for up to 7 days.
- Virtual programming and virtual coaching sessions will continue
- Access our Digital Library for e-books and e-audiobooks, online learning tools, tutorials, DIY activities and more.

Please note: Safety protocols remain in place. This includes wearing a face covering, maintaining 2m distance from staff and others waiting for service and staying home if you are sick.

Picking up Holds
Picking up your reserved items is as easy as 1-2-3!
- Visit our online catalogue myBPL to browse or search for items to place on hold.
- When your item(s) are ready, you will be notified by your chosen contact method (text message or email). You then have 7 days to schedule an Express Pick-up appointment or drop-in to pick-up your items.
- Have your library card handy when you pick up your items!
