Season 4

Brooklyn, Grade 11

4/5 Stars

The story follows a disgraced former lawyer, Jeffery Winger, now forced to go to a lowly community college after faking his bachelor’s degree. In an attempt to court a young woman in his Spanish class, Jeff fabricates a fake study group to give himself time alone with her. Much to Jeff’s surprise, many more people show up than he expected. The show follows a group of loveable misfits as they take a journey, starting as a study group, ending as a family.

This season is as zany as ever, following the group called the “Greendale Seven” and the Dean of Greendale Community College. From history of ice cream classes, “Inspector SpaceTime” conventions, a mysterious illness, and an extreme “Freaky Friday” situation, this season is filled with new twists and turns that are sure to keep you laughing and on the edge of your seat.

Abed Nadir, a member of the study group, is a young man with Asperger’s syndrome who has a terrible inability to pick up on any social cues. He is extremely socially awkward, landing himself in many awkward social situations. To make up for his lack of social skills, he immerses himself into pop culture, movies, and TV shows to be able to relate to those around him. Britta Perry is the young woman who Jeff wishes to date. She, however, wants nothing to do with him. She is an activist, protesting many issues of human and animal rights. Annie Edison is the youngest of the Greendale Seven, freshly out of high school, recovering from a serious pill addiction. Troy Barnes is a former high school football player, who was forced to go to community college despite his serious potential after an injury left him unable to play. Pierce is the oldest member. Shirley is a loving and caring mother, enrolling in community college after a terrible change in her life. Jeffery’s goal is to get in and out of the college, getting his degree and his ability to practice law again as fast as possible.

I really like this show. It is funny and gripping. It may be a little predictable at sometimes, but the writers always find new ways to make the show interesting. The characters are hilarious, loveable, and always finding themselves in the weirdest, funniest situations possible!
