‘Aquaman and The Lost Kingdom’ starring Jason Momoa as Aquaman, is a thrilling movie, full of adventure and plot twists that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Black Manta, Aquaman’s sworn enemy, is out for revenge after failing to kill Aquaman in the first movie of the series. He is determined now to finish Aquaman off and avenge his father. Filled with anger and grief, Black Manta is unable to resist the power of an ancient artifact and sets out on a path of major destruction.  Now, the two royal brothers, Aquaman and Orm (also known as the Ocean Master), are forced to put aside their differences and grudges from the past, to form an alliance in order to save not only their kingdom of Atlantis, but all of the land and sea.

While I did enjoy this sequel, I would give this movie 3 out of 5 stars. I think that this was a pretty good movie to start off with and I would recommend it to anyone whose ideal choice is an action-filled superhero movie, or any sort of science fiction/ fantasy film that depicts different civilizations. However, personally, this is not my top pick for a movie genre. I felt that the start of the movie was generally well paced and well portrayed up until the climax of the movie. At this point, I felt the movie bounced back and forth a lot which caused the plot to get lost on several occasions. The end of the movie felt very rushed and not as strong as the first half of the movie. Overall, while this wouldn’t be my first pick, I am not upset that I watched it at least to see what all the hype was about.
