The Prisoner of Azkaban is the third book in the Harry Potter series and focuses on Harry meeting his godfather and has so many weird twists and turns that it is crucial to making the book an enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, this book is the turning point in the series where it starts to become more mature to the point where readers below 10 years old might have a little bit of trouble reading because the subject might be a little scary for them, but it is not too too bad so make sure to have a parent read it and judge for yourself! I think that the book becoming more mature is a little bit better than the more innocent prior books, but it also feels like it lost a little bit of its original charm. I think that this makes it a little more complicated to read, and makes it a little more of a time commitment to read. I think that making it just a little bit shorter and more easy to remember would clear up some of the confusion that I have with the book and make it more memorable. Overall this was not my favourite Harry Potter book but I also think that it was the pathway to making a more complete series, which is why I will give the book a strong 7/10. This book, however, is the end of the more child focused books in the harry potter series, so any potter book after this one I would definitely recommend to an older audience of 11 and above, however the first 3 books in the series, which includes this one should be ok for kids 8 and up to be read by parents.
