Hello, I am Matthew Solano Fonseca, Grade 12, and this is a review of the 3/5, 1997 movie Air Bud. Air Bud is a sports comedy film directed by Charles Martin Smith under the Keystone Smith production company and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. It follows Josh Framm, a boy who had lost the hope in him after the death of his father, and his recent relocation to Fernfield, Washington, where he soon finds an abandoned dog with a similar affinity and skill to basketball, where together they try to make it through both the hardships of sport, and life. The movie is your average, good kids sport film mixed with an animal film, which is at least above average for usual films of these types, especially one that has an element as ridiculous as a sports playing dog, with an engaging story and enough to make it a fun general audiences affair for many, that, when it comes to the actors, for a movie that has to do with both a child and dog as their main character, Kevin Zegers and Air Buddy do a great job at their roles along with the rest of the cast in playing these characters, many of them are well fleshed out for what they bring to the story that the writers really nailed. So while it isn’t a 5/5 revolutionizing masterpiece of cinema, it’s good enough to watch it with the family, or by yourself if you’re really feeling like it.
