My name is Emilio (Grade 10), and I would consider Rayman Legends one of the best 2D platformers on any home console. I would give this game a 5/5 because of its gorgeous art style, precise platforming, and a great soundtrack. It contains an enormous amount of content while having an insane amount of replayability. Rayman Legends is the fifth installment of the Rayman series, and it is a 2D platformer created by Ubisoft. The game provides an uplifting and enjoyable atmosphere where it is hard to not have fun while playing the game. It is a bright and expressive environment that makes the levels memorable. I like how this game handles difficulty as it gets more difficult when you progress through the game. Although, if you are looking for a challenge, there are optional levels and time trials for past levels, which put all of your skills to the test. The gameplay may seem simple as it only involves attacking and moving to the end goal, but the mechanics and unlockables make it great. There are secret areas per level, collectible items (called Teensies) which are mandatory to progress, and hidden coins to increase your currency (lums). What ties everything together is the soundtrack of this game, which can range from a powerful orchestral score to cheery and unique sounds created by the enemies. If you ever complete the game or if you are looking for something else to do, multiple mini-games can help you spend your time. These sub-games can range from an aerial soccer game, challenge mode, and an entire set of new levels that are based on the previous game, Rayman Origins. Rayman Legends is a detailed, replayable, masterpiece that I would heavily recommend to everyone, especially people who love platformers.
