BPL Comic Fest Returns September 21, 2024, 10AM - 3PM Downtown Library!

This is an annual free, family-friendly event that showcases pop culture in Barrie with local vendors, cosplayers, artists and more.

Game On!

Game On!  is the City's gaming event, where you can re-live the nostalgia of retro video games, go head-to-head in a video game tournament, and much more!

Mario Kart Tournament | All Ages| @ Library

Head to the Downtown branch of the Barrie Public Library (60 Worsley Street) from 10am to 3pm to compete in this family friendly Mario Kart tournament, hosted by We Got Game. Participation is free! Check in on-site at the Game On! booth during the Library’s Comic Fest event.

Game On! After Dark | 19+| @Five Points Theatre

After the tournament, the 19+ crowd is invited to attend for free Game On! After Dark at the Five Points Theatre from 6pm – 10pm. 

NEW this year: Game On! After Dark is hosted by the voice actor of Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike and three-time JUNO Award winner, INFINITE, of The Infinite and Louise Show.  

Cosplay Mix & Mingle

The Five Points Theatre will feature a 19+ cosplay mix and mingle. Come ready to show off your cosplay! Please note, there is no cosplay competition at this year’s event.

Barrie's Ultimate Gamer Tournament - 6-7pm

Those 19+ can participate in Barrie’s Ultimate Gamer tournament presented by We Got Game. Doors open at 6pm and the tournament starts at 7pm. It is free to participate, but pre-registration in the tournament is required. 

This year's featured game is Street Fighter 6. Compete against other players for the chance at winning a prize, donated by Power Up Gaming! The top four competitors will then face off against each other on the main stage big screen for a chance at winning a prize and title of "Barrie’s Ultimate Gamer." 

The 19+ tournament is hosted by Canadian hip-hop artist and three-time Juno Award winner INFINITE and Louise Jackson, dedicated leader, and inspirational speaker. The two are collaborating on the production of The Infinite and Louise Show, an upcoming entertainment series. 

Escape Room

Are you ready to embark on an unforgettable adventure right here at the Five Points Theatre? Look no further! Gather your friends to solve clues and puzzles with Escape Room Barrie! Must be 19+. 

Retro Gaming Area

A blast from the past retro gaming area! Re-live the nostalgia of retro video games with a play for fun retro gaming area featuring classic games from the past, courtesy of Power Up Gaming. Must be 19+. 

NEW This Year: OMG Games Board Game Lounge

Hang out and play some board games provided by OMG Games. Don't miss the chance to purchase some exclusive board game merchandise. Must be 19+. 

 

You can also enjoy: 

  • Music to set the vibe, provided by DJ Delta Juliet
  • An interactive photo booth with a Game On! backdrop
