This movie is based on the 1983 book written by Roald Dahl. It is about a boy called Charlie who goes to live with his Grandmother after his parents die. His Grandmother takes him to a hotel where a convention of Witches is happening. The story of the movie is all about stopping the Grand High Witch from turning all the children in the world into mice.
I am giving this DVD three stars because I did not like the movie as much as the book or the 1990 version. I think that this movie relied more on special effects than the story. I think that the acting was good but the movie did not have a scare factor. The movie is rated PG and I feel like younger children would enjoy it more than teens. I would recommend the 1990 version over this one. Anybody who enjoyed the book might be disappointed with this movie.
