This movie is about a 17 year-old boy named Daniel LaRusso, who moves with his mother from New Jersey to Reseda. He befriends a few boys he meets in his apartment complex, who invite him to the beach. He then ends up meeting a girl named Ali who seems to be taking an interest in the new boy in town.  Things then progress as they start to talk at school, but her ex-boyfriend Johnny Lawrence and his friends begin to be mean towards Daniel and beat him up. This sparks an anger in Daniel and he starts to learn karate, knowing that Johnny Lawrence and his friends are part of the Cobra Kai dojo run by John Kreese. Daniel gets taken in by Mr. Miyagi, as he is a karate master of his own, goes into the Cobra Kai dojo to see what Johnny and his Cobra’s are learning. It was going well until he got caught watching practice by Johnny. Things escalate, but a negotiation is made between Johnny, Kreese, Mr. Miyagi and Daniel, which is that they can’t fight unless it is the day of the All-Valley Tournament. This story follows the journey between Daniel and Mr. Miyagi, and the connections that they make along the way.

In my opinion, The Karate Kid is one of my favourite films of all time as it is filled with lots of action-packed sequences, romance, humour and character development. This movie is for people of all ages with a rating of PG.
