Oppenheimer directed by Christopher Nolan

Rating: 5/5

Michael, Grade 9

Oppenheimer, directed by Christoper Nolan, was one of the most hyped films of 2023, and it deserves the attention. I was deeply impressed by the acting, as even just simple facial expressions could convey a plethora of emotions and thoughts to the audience. As for the acting, Cillian Murphy does an amazing job playing the lead role of Oppenheimer, and the supporting cast does not fall short either. Moreover, the characters all feel meaningful, as even characters with scarce appearances like Einstein stick in your head until the very end. The sound track was also unique and enjoyable, and when combined with the build up to the main events, the sound track greatly enhances the suspense and overall impact of the big moments of the film. The film does exceptionally well in telling the story of the Manhattan project, as it covers the key points of it with detail, and it keeps it suspenseful with the issues that present themselves as it goes on. The conclusion of this film did not disappoint either, by leaving lots to think about. In particular, the righteousness of the atomic bomb and weapons of mass destruction were significant topics that I kept thinking about after watching this film. I would recommend this film to everyone 13 years old or older, especially to those interested in nuclear weapons, as this film depicts an amazing perspective on the use of these devices and also the discovery of them. Overall, I would give this film a 5/5 rating because the production and storytelling made this an amazing film to watch, and the climactic moments were breathtaking.
