Twisted Love by Ana Huang

Rated 3.5/5
Ava Chen is unhappy that her brother Josh must leave for another country for a few months. But she is also relieved as she is finally free of Josh's overprotectiveness. Unfortunately, Josh has hired his best friend, Alex Volkov, as her temporary babysitter. Alex is known to be emotionless, grumpy, and cold all the time. While Ava is the complete opposite: cheery, energetic, and looks on the bright side of things. They have known each other for eight years, but it isn't till now that they spend time with each other. And as Ava and Alex keep being around each other, the more their relationship develops. But as love grows between the two, secrets are revealed that may destroy their relationship forever.

"Twisted Love" by Ana Huang is the first book in the Twisted series. I've seen this book online many times and wanted to give it a chance. The storyline for Ava and Alex was fascinating. They both developed trauma from their past, and in some way, it has brought them together, letting them heal each other. Although the storyline was great, I needed help to connect to the characters themselves. Usually, when I read books, there is this connection with the main character/characters as I read what they think, feel, see, experience, etc. But for this book, I didn't feel much for Ava and Alex. I'm planning to read the other books in the series, so my opinion may change with this couple since they are included in the other books. Overall, this was a fun and exciting read. I recommend it to anyone who likes contemporary romance, brothers-best-friend, slow burn, billionaire romance, and opposites attract.
