Public libraries aim to provide equitable and accessible service, and the Barrie Public Library has taken a monumental step in advancing that goal. Effective July 1, 2020, the Barrie Public Library Board has approved the removal of late fines from borrowed materials returned after the due date.

We are expanding our service on June 29, offering Express Service during select hours, seven days a week at both library locations. This includes drop-in pickup hours 7 days a week, reopening our outdoor return slots, and Express Computers.

We stand with our Black colleagues, friends, patrons and community. Anti-Black racism and social injustice are historical and current issues that we must condemn and work to dismantle, together.

As the province begins reopening, the Barrie Public Library is getting ready to reintroduce service in phases, beginning with curbside pickup at the Downtown Library on June 10.
