The Fault in our Stars
August 10, 2021The Fault in our Stars is about Hazel Grace Lancaster, a sixteen-year-old girl who suffers from thyroid cancer and metastasis in her lungs. She pretty much hates her life until she meets charismatic Augustus Waters, a seventeen-year-old boy who used to have osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. They quickly bond over witty conversation and the correct use of literality.
This book is unique because of the descriptive words used throughout the novel. It's written from Hazel's perspective, and because she's already taking college classes, her mind works in an advanced way. The story is not too difficult to read, but it's aimed more at teens and young adults than younger audiences. I enjoyed the expansive vocabulary featured in this book, but warning, there are swear words used.
