Ever After

Directed by Andy Tenant

Kelly grade 9

I would rate this movie a 4/5.  It’s a Cinderella movie that is live action and more historically accurate.  The main character, a servant named Danielle, lives in a home with her abusive stepmother and stepsisters.  She later on meets the prince and falls in love with him.  However, because she tried to save one of her friends, she had to pretend to be a higher title than she was, and that happened to be when she met the prince.  My favourite character is Leonardo Da Vinci because he helps Danielle and the prince, William, fight for their love.  He helped them overcome their titles and social standards in that time period.  My absolute favourite line is when he says is “Looks like rain.” and it ends up scaring danielle and he ends up falling into the water.  I enjoyed many different parts in this movie, but overall my top favourite parts were when Danielle and her co workers were at the market selling their produce.  William ended up walking by their stand, and to hide her identity, Danielle threw a chicken at him.  I also really liked how near the end of the movie that Danielle stood up for herself by escaping Pierre Le Pieu ( the slave owner).  I would recommend this movie to people who like romantic comedy, and dramas.  I would say people ten and up should watch this because I think any age younger would have difficulty understanding the storyline with the old English dialogue.
