Kung Fu Panda 3, directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson

Ethan, Grade 12

Rating 5/5

In the start of the movie it shows the dragon warrior, Po in his fathers restaurant when another panda comes into the restaurant and the two start bonding. Meanwhile a villain named Kai, was in the spirit realm stealing the chi of all the past kung fu masters including master Oogway. All the chi he stole made him able to return into the normal world and swore to take all the chi from all the masters in all of China. After stealing the chi from the furious five and master Shifu, Po went up to the pandas village to learn how to control chi. When Po learned that the pandas no longer had the ability to control chi he had to make other plans, with the help of the other pandas in the village he tried to stop kai from getting to the rest of the pandas. After failing this Po sacrificed himself bringing himself to the spirit world along with Kai to fight him there.

I really loved this movie, although it was for younger kids I found myself really enjoying watching the movie. One thing that I thought was perfect in this movie was the music, the music that was used for everything gave the movie an amazing feeling. When Kai is on the screen a certain song plays which fits him perfectly and really adds to the movie and his character. Another thing that was really nice is learning more about the pandas and Po’s heritage so we can get a better understanding of his story to become the dragon warrior. Kai as a villain was a really good choice as he just fit the part of Po’s rival perfectly, and the actor that played him fit it really well.

I would definitely recommend this movie to someone. Although this movie was made for children it doesn't feel boring to watch for people a little more mature. Kung Fu Panda and Dreamworks in general are very good at making children's movies that can be entertaining at any age, and this movie is a great example. This was a movie that definitely was able to keep me entertained, and I would recommend this to someone young or older.
