With our small planet surrounded by billions of stars, there are always new discoveries to be made. Go beyond what can be seen with the naked eye and start your adventure into astronomy. Check out a Telescope Kit from the library to explore the skies.
Each Telescope Kit includes:
- Portable Refractor Telescope (Celestron 80mm Travel Scope)
- Backpack
- 20mm and 10mm eyepieces
- Adjustable height tripod and mount
- Smartphone adapter
- Instruction manual

How to Borrow
Telescope Kits can be borrowed for up to one week. Limit of two “Library of Things” items per card holder. You can place Telescope Kits on hold and choose to pick them up at any Barrie Public Library location.
The Downtown location owns a Grab & Go copy of a Telescope that is strictly available on a first-come, first-served basis and is Not Renewable. For availability, please inquire with staff at the Service Desk.
How to Return
Telescope Kits can be returned to any Barrie Public Library location during library hours of operation. While we no longer have late fees, if the item is damaged or lost a replacement fee of $199 will be charged to the borrower's account.
