Ancestry has been the gold standard in family history research for a while. Over the past year, we have been happy to temporarily provide remote access to Ancestry Library Edition to our patrons. This was thanks to the good people at Ancestry, who adjusted their policies for libraries during the pandemic. We hope that you have enjoyed using Ancestry Library from the comfort of your home.
However, we regret to announce that Ancestry Library will end remote access on December 31, 2021. Ancestry cares deeply about libraries and their patrons, but they do have agreements with publishers and other business considerations that prevent them from offering remote access permanently. As a result, we must remove all remote access points by December 31. Please visit either library branch to access Ancestry. Note that you can access Ancestry via your laptop or tablet within the library, and of course you are welcome to use a library computer to access it.
