Are you not sure where to begin when filing your taxes for this year? Do you have questions about filing your personal taxes after receiving CERB or EI due to COVID-19?

On Friday December 4, BPL has joined forces with two outreach officers from the Canada Revenue Agency to present a video conference program, which will allow you to engage with library staff, tax professionals and other participants in real time. Stating at 10 am, join us with your questions!

Line Goulet and Abeer Hussain are both tax professionals working with the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program in Ontario.  Goulet is bilingual and has been working for the CRA for almost five years. Hussain has been sharing expertise all over Ontario. Both will be on hand during the session to answer your questions and to pass on valuable advice to make tax season a little easier!

Everyone in Single File: How to File your Taxes Like a Pro for T1 Businesses:
Are you a T1 Business and struggling with how to file your taxes for 2020? Do you have more tax-related questions than answers? BPL has teamed up with the Small Business Center to present “Everyone in Single File: How to Complete your Taxes Like A Pro.”

Join us for two, one-hour webinars:  Wednesday December 2 and Thursday December 10 from 10am to 11 am.

In the first session, you will learn about revenue and expenses, common income tax errors made by small businesses, meals and entertainment and other general expenses.

In the second session, you will get the chance to learn about GST/HST common errors, differences in tax status, reporting periods, exceeding small supplier thresholds, payroll & common errors and employed vs. self-employed. The CRA’s online resources and COVID-19 emergency tax measures will also be covered.

Come armed with your questions! CRA professionals will be on hand to inform you about business tax deductions, common tax errors, general bookkeeping concepts and helpful tools and services offered by the CRA.
