The library building may be closed at the moment but you can still use our services - just in a slightly different way.

We have always had a number of books, audiobooks and other services that are available online and now it seems they have come into their own.

If you are a new user of our online resources, take a look at the Digital Library pages on our website to browse what we have:

eBooks and eAudiobooks

The core of our online content is our eBooks and eAudiobooks. These are books that you can browse or search for online. You can then borrow them and read or listen to them on a computer or mobile device.

How can I read these books?

  • Web Browser: You can use a web browser, like Chrome, Firefox or Edge to read any of our eBooks or eAudiobooks on a home computer. For this option, you will need to be connected to the internet while reading.
  • Tablets & Phones: If you have a smartphone or tablet, such as an iPad, Android or Kindle Fire many of our eBook providers also have mobile apps that allow you to download a book and read it while you are offline.
  • eReaders: If you have an e-reader, like a Kobo or some Nook readers, you can use them to read eBooks from cloudLibrary, our largest eBook provider, as well as Cantook Station.
Unfortunately, Kindle e-readers do not work with content from Canadian public libraries.
