From April 14 to 20 2024, the Barrie Public Library will celebrate our volunteers during National Volunteer Week. This annual celebration is a time to thank and recognize our volunteers.

The theme for National Volunteer Week 2024 is Every Moment Matters. It highlights the importance of every volunteer and each contribution they make at a moment when we need support more than ever. The sharing of time, skills, empathy, and creativity is vital to the inclusivity, strength, and wellbeing of our communities. .

We are incredibly grateful for our 200+ volunteers. Their contributions are valued by everyone here at the Barrie Public Library and we're thrilled to see how their actions make an impact on our community’s overall wellness, both now and for future generations.

Our Program Assistant volunteers help individuals, both young and old, to develop skills, discover different perspectives, and gain connections.

Our Café volunteers not only raise funds for library projects, but they also provide a warm presence and a listening ear to those who stop by for a chat.

Our Visiting Library Service volunteer drivers connect patrons who can’t physically make it to the library, with the materials that keep them happy and entertained.

Our Administrative volunteers work alongside staff to support programs that are meaningful and create change.

So, from Sunday April 14th to Saturday April 20th, if you see a Library volunteer in one of our branches, be sure to wish them a Happy National Volunteer Week and thank them for their time, talent, and energy.
