Suddenly Supernatural: The School Spirit by Elizabeth Cody Kimmel Reviewed by: Jeel (Grade 10) Rating: 4/5. Kat has been always wishing for a normal kid's life, but the fact of her mother being a medium, just ruins it all. Her mother is medium who sees and communicates with spirits. Kat is scared of sharing her family information with any of her classmates or even calling a friend home, as the person would take it weirdly and will lose a friend. And even worse, Kat just found out that she can see spirits and one of them is roaming around in her school. The main question is, will Kat be successful in helping the school spirit crossover? This book is amazing with an experience of a 7th grade student who tries to help the school spirit crossover to the dead world. The challenges and secrets tend to haunt Kat, but this problem has given Kat a best friend. I kind of enjoyed reading this book, but one thing that could be added was a little more horrific scenes, which would give it a rating of 5/5. The relationship between a girl and her mother is just unique. I have never seen a relationship like this with any mom and daughter. I am still curious to read the other parts of the book and looking forward to an interesting story. I would recommend this book to kids aged 11 – 13 especially those who like to read horror books with a limited amount of horrific scenes.
