She desperately hopes to find peace and safety in this small new town. One day, she runs into Archer Hale, a man who has secrets of his own. Bree feels a spark between the two and eventually learns that Archer Hale is a silent and isolated man who has also experienced a traumatic event that has caused him not to be able to speak. Although everyone in town seems to know about Archer, Bree notices that they ignore him. Being the curious person she is, she goes and builds a friendship with him. But the longer she stays with him, the more their friendship turns into something more and the longer she stays in town, the more she learns about his and the town’s secrets. Bree and Archer both having experienced their own traumatic events, find comfort in each other and strengthen each other along the way. But will they both be able to face their trauma together or will the aftereffects of it separate them apart?

“Archer’s Voice” by Mia Sheridan is a small-town romance novel about suffering, trauma, fate, and the power of love. Bree and Archer are one of my favourite romance relationships so far! They go so well with each other, and I loved that they were able to help one another through their love for each other. This is also my first book where one of the main characters was mute, so I found it interesting how Archer and Bree communicated. Sign language was one way, but there were many other ways such as deciphering each other’s eyes or looking at facial expressions. I also loved how Archer noticed little details about Bree. At first, the pacing was slow, but it picked up a bit in the middle. By the end of the book, many things happened quickly so the pacing was a bit weird for me. However, I enjoyed the storyline and how the relationship between Bree and Archer developed. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys small-town contemporary romance and drama
