Learn about your family history at our first Genealogy Fair on Saturday, October 26 from 10am-4pm at our Downtown Branch!
This event will include presentations from historical specialists across various disciplines, and an expo with regional authors and archivists ready to assist the novice and advanced family history researcher. Members from Barrie Ontario Family History Centre and Simcoe County Branch - Ontario Ancestors - Ontario Genealogical Society will be presenting and ready to help answer research questions. 10 unique presentations include basic genealogy research tips up to locating French Canadian, military, or Indigenous records.
Library staff will be in the Collaboratory all day to answer basic questions and give tips about Ancestry® and FamilySearch. Ontario Genealogical Society and Family History Centre members may help with complex research questions.
Vendors will be announced closer to the date of the event.
Everyone is welcome at this free event; no registration required.
