Gelert Garden Farms
Gelert Garden Farm offers open pollinated and heirloom seeds, sweet potato slips and started plants. They enjoy searching for rare heirloom varieties to make them available and prevent the loss of adaptive and unique types of vegetables. As well, they have Ontario sourced, Certified Organic seed potatoes available. Everything they sell, they grow, except for the seed potatoes, but being a small family farm quantities can be limited. Especially sweet potato slips.

Hidden Habitat

Little Food Pantry Project
The Little Food Pantry Project is a collaboration between Barrie Food Bank and local faith communities to help meet the needs of those who are food insecure. Six outdoor pantries located on church properties, are stocked with items such as granola bars, oatmeal packs, soup noodles, peanut butter and crackers, and the local community is encouraged to “Take What You Need and Give What You Can”. Urban Pantry
Urban Pantry is a program of the Canadian Mental Health Association, with funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. They are a collaboration of like-minded individuals and groups working together on community food security (urban agriculture, food skills & food access). Urban Pantry has partnered with the City of Barrie on many Community Gardens. They offer Food Skills Workshops & Community Kitchens as well as Barrie Good Food Box wholesale fresh produce subscriptions.
