The Barrie Public Library is the proud host of the Barrie Dragon Boat Festival! Held annually in beautiful Heritage Park, the festival brings teams together for a fun-filled day of camaraderie and fundraising while racing dragon boats on Kempenfelt Bay.
The Barrie Dragon Boat Festival presented by Tim Hortons, is made possible by the support of our sponsors, volunteers, and community partners and teams. Between 2003 and 2023, the festival has raised over 2 million dollars for more than 60 charities-- including the Barrie Public Library's Future Branches Campaign.

Barrie Public Library is excited to be working with community partner, Corporate Recess, to facilitate this summer’s practice season! Team practices are a fun way to spend your summer, while getting some exercise out on Kempenfelt Bay.

Working together to paddle as a unit takes a great deal of collaboration, making Dragon Boating a great team-building activity. It is no wonder that the Barrie Dragon Boat Festival attracts so many workplaces, charities, and groups of friends, year after year!
