Cultural Passes

Simcoe County Cultural Places Pass
This program is made available through Sumac, Simcoe County's Cultural Network.runs Victoria Day weekend to Thanksgiving weekend and allows Adults and Teens with a valid Barrie Public Library membership free admission, coupons and more for the following cultural venues within Simcoe County:

  • Collingwood Museum
  • Huronia Museum
  • MacLaren Art Gallery
  • Museum on the Boyne
  • Nancy Island Historic Site
  • Orillia Museum of Art & History
  • Simcoe County Museum
  • Stephen Leacock Museum

Reserve your pass at the Cultural Places Pass Reservation website. 

Details to know are :

  • There is only one pass available per day for each cultural venue, on the days that the venue is open
  • Passes can only be picked up at the location specified in the reservation by the person that made the reservation
  • Only one pass may be reserved for use on any one day
  • Only one pass per cultural institution may be booked during a 30 day period 
  • Passes can be reserved up to 60 days in advance in person or online 
  • Passes may be cancelled one day in advance over the phone or in person. Passes may be cancelled two or more days in advance online, over the phone or in person. Same day cancellations are not permitted.
  • If a pass has already been picked up, it should be returned to the lending library prior to cancelling the reservation

Canoo (formerly known as the Cultural Access Pass program)

Canoo is a mobile app that helps new Canadian citizens celebrate their citizenship by providing free admission to over 1400 museums, science centres, art galleries, parks, and historic sites across Canada.

The app offers free admission for every new citizen and up to four children, every time they visit for the first year of citizenship. The Canoo app is available for free on the App Store and Google Play.

Learn more at the Institute For Canadian Citizenship. For new Canadians that do not have access to a mobile device, an application will be available on the ICC website and paper memberships will be mailed to them.
