“Barbie (DVD)” by Warner Bros

5/5 - it was amazing
“Barbie (DVD)” by Warner Bros was amazing. Throughout the movie Barbie the main character played by Margot Robbie was conflicted by if the usual stereotypes women go through are real. The movie highlights what women have to go through usually and how our world is completely fine with it. When Barbie wears her typical bright clothing to roller skate, she is given strange, odd looks by men and then is street harassed by construction workers and a guy walking down the street. Ken was wearing the same color and style of clothes that Barbie was wearing yet no one said anything to him, he didn't receive street harassment like Barbie did. That one scene of Barbie shows you the moral of the movie: even though men and women have the same amount of limbs and even the same amount of bones, in the real world men and women will be treated differently. They will be treated either negatively or positively simply because they are a man or a woman. I recommend Barbie to young girls and guys to learn about the reality of the world as well as how differently it is portrayed. After watching the movie Barbie, kids can find out what they can do themselves to be better. My favorite thing about the movie Barbie is the diversity. In 1959 they launched the first Barbie doll which happened to be small in size, blonde, have fair skin and blue eyes. Personally, after watching Barbie I dont think of that stereotype that Barbie is a small, fair skinned doll. I think of Barbie as multiple colors, multiple sizes and diverse.
