Review of Just Breathe written by Cammie McGovern, by grade 12 student, Lilly boehler.

I’d give this book a 5/5

Just Breathe is a book written about a young introverted girl suffering from depression (Jamie) and a young extroverted boy suffering from cystic fibrosis (David).

This book was absolutely beautiful and left me a crying - happily - mess. This book is about an unexpected friendship between two opposites who couldn’t have been more meant for each other. It was sad, funny, joyful and incredibly entertaining. I was not able to put this book down. The cover itself drew me in with all its colours and by the title of the book. I found it in my sisters room and - I kid you not - could not put it down. I immediately took it into my room - running into walls in the process -  because I was overcome with a necessity to know what was going to happen.

This book is a definite page turner that will leave you begging for more. I did not want to do anything but finish reading this book. When it ended I was devastated that there were no more pages left about Jamie and David’s story.

If you are someone who looks for qualities such as romance, drama, and some sadness, then this is the book for you. Also if you liked the movie Five feet apart or A walk to remember, then I highly recommend this book to you. This book wrenched so many emotions out of me, without permission, however I am most certainly not complaining. I absolutely loved this book and hope to find more like it.

I hope you adore this book as much as I did!
