People We Meet On Vacation is the comedic love story of Poppy and Alex: two completely different characters who become best friends after one bizarre carpool ride. Their story follows vacations spent together over multiple years after college, which include humour, embarrassment and romance. Or… it did until two years ago when they ruined everything and have not spoken since. But Poppy now has a plan! She will build their friendship again and come clean during one last trip to Croatia, which Alex has agreed to by miracle. She’s got this.

The scenes of the two lovebirds together follow a friends-to-lovers trope where they get caught up in an exciting adventure as they tour Croatia according to Poppy’s plan. From dinosaurs and back problems to Tinder, the two have fun, help each other out and slowly rebuild something that could have been lost. Seeing them interact is like watching people live in their little bubbles: no one else exists except the love of their life. This adorable (if not cheesy) story makes it impossible to tear your eyes off the pages to get more of the primary two: the hermit crab and bookworm Alex and the extroverted wanderlusting Poppy.

Emily Henry is a fantastic writer who throws sweet moments and chaotic comedies into the mix to make every second of this wonderful book count. She has a special way of putting butterflies in your stomach and making your heart pound as you turn the pages. Not only that, but the novel is so cute, bubbly and heartwarming any reader would be more than happy while lost in this world of hope.

I would recommend this book for any readers looking for that special happily ever after, not too much (but still) smut and a passion for romance. So far, this one has captured my attention out of all three of Emily's books. If you’re a reader still easing their way into romance, I recommend this book for its light quality.
Happy reading!
