The Nintendo Switch video game Pokémon Scarlet was developed by Game Freak and released by Nintendo and Pokémon Violet in 2022. The release of this pair of games was super exciting for Pokémon video game fans because they both offered a completely open world to explore. Usually, Pokémon video games have simple gameplay that follows a particular storyline, with different levels getting more challenging as you keep playing. However, these two games allow players to play at their own pace and pick their path, so you don't have to follow a particular storyline. They feature three different routes: Victory Road, Path of Legends, and Starfall Street, all within the Paldea region and have many new and exciting Pokémon and challenges. After trying this video game, I would rate Pokémon Scarlet a 4/5.
When Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were released for the Nintendo Switch, I heavily debated about which one of the two I would buy. The main reason that I chose Pokémon Scarlet over Pokémon Violet was because of the Scarlet exclusive Generation 9 Legendary Pokémon, Koraidon. In my personal opinion, Koraidon is better than the Violet Legendary Pokémon, Miraidon. The main difference is that Koraidon is a Fighting/Dragon-type, and Miraidon is an Electric/Dragon-type, but they are both excellent for taking down 6-star raids. Overall, I liked the appearance of Koraidon more and felt that Koraidon was a more versatile Pokémon that I would prefer playing within the game.
Regarding the graphics in Pokémon Scarlet, I was not very impressed and certainly expected much better, especially with all the hype surrounding the game's release. In addition, the game runs at a very low frame rate, making it very laggy and highly disappointing. The game was poorly optimized, and the developer should have taken more time. However, there was a lot to explore in the region of Paldea, which I enjoyed, and the overall gameplay was enjoyable and entertaining.
If you're a Pokémon fan, I recommend giving Pokémon Scarlet a try! It's a lot of fun to experience playing Pokémon with open-world gameplay, which differs from previous game versions.
