Grief Kit
Working through grief is a journey.
Developed in partnership with the Seasons Centre for Grieving Children, these kits offer supports to those in the process of grieving the loss of a loved one and offers tools and information for those helping others navigate this experience.
We currently offer Grief Kits that have been curated for ages 2-6 and 6-10.
Each Grief Kit includes:

- Information guides on understanding grief from the Seasons Centre for Grieving Children
- The Grief Companion: A SUpportive Guide to Navigating Grief
- Emotions Wheel
- A variety of Fidgets
- Drawstring backpack
While everyone experiences grief in their own way, nobody needs to walk the path alone. Our curated kits cater to specific age groups so that everyone has the opportunity to make connections and heal.
How to Borrow
Grief Kits can be borrowed for up to three weeks. Limit of two “Library of Things” items per card holder. You can place Grief Kits on hold and choose to pick them up at any Barrie Public Library location.
How to Return
Grief Kits can be returned to any Barrie Public Library location during library hours of operation. While we no longer have late fees, if the item is damaged or lost a replacement fee of up to $102 will be charged to the borrower's account.
