Adventure Kits
Your next great adventure starts here!
Get outside and explore with an Adventure Kit. Learn how to identify trees and master basic compass orienteering, or dive deeper into nature by examining the world under a microscope. Bring a snack, some water and any extras you want to pack, and set out on an adventure!
Each Adventure Kit includes:
- Orienteering baseplate compass
- How to Use a Compass book
- Trekking poles (2 small and 1 large)
- Tree pocket guide
- Pocket microscope
- LED headlamp
- Tick identification and removal kit
- Backpack
How to Borrow
Adventure Kits can be borrowed for up to one week. Limit of two “Library of Things” items per cardholder. You can place Adventure Kits on hold and choose to pick them up at any Barrie Public Library location.
How to Return
Adventure Kits can be returned to any Barrie Public Library location during library hours of operation. While we no longer have late fees, if the item is damaged or lost a replacement fee of up to $186 will be charged to the borrower's account.
