Introducing Express Service Beginning June 29!

As the province begins reopening, we are thrilled to offer EXPRESS SERVICE for low contact pickup of material and access to a limited number of computers at both the Downtown and Painswick locations.

Express Service is limited to the lobby and meeting rooms and we will be limiting the number of people in these areas at a time. 

Use of the facility, including washrooms, will remain closed to the public in accordance with the provincial guidelines for re-opening the province. 

Return slots will also be open 24/7 at both locations beginning June 29. Please note that we are quarantining returned material for at least 3 days before we check them in. You will not be charged late fees for overdue items. Let us know if you still notice material on your cards, 4 days after you returned it. 

Express Service hours will be the same for both Downtown and Painswick locations. You can drop-in to pickup holds, use an express computer and Staff will be available to answer questions, provide recommendations and fulfill requests. Members are asked to respect physical distancing guidelines and stay at least 2 metres apart from staff and other members.

  • Tuesday to Thursday 1-7pm
  • Friday 10am-4pm
  • Saturday and Sunday 12-5pm

How do I request an item?

Browse our catalogue, select the items you'd like to borrow and your pickup location. You will be notified, by email, text or phone, when your item(s) are ready, depending on your account preferences.

Is Express Service safe?

We've designed our reopening services to be low contact so staff and community remain safe. Returned items will be quarantined for 3 days before being checked in and processed by staff. Patrons are asked to respect physical distancing guidelines and stay at least 2 metres apart from staff and other patrons. 

When can I return my items?

Return slots are open 24/7 at both locations. Please note that we are quarantining returned material for at least 3 days before we check them in. You will not be charged late fees for overdue items. Let us know if you still notice material on your cards, 4 days after you returned it. 

Will there be fines on my account if I've had items since March?

No, there will be no fines on your account for items you've had since the closure in March and due dates have been extended to July 31. 

Also, effective July 1, 2020, late fines will no longer be charged for items returned after the due date. Please note that replacement costs still apply for material that is damaged or is 21 days overdue. 

If you have fines and fees from before the closure, you can pay them online through Smart Pay.
