Visit our catalogue myBPL to borrow books, movies, and TV shows for free. Check out our Digital Library to access online courses, or attend our online programs each month.

Items can be returned to either branch regardless of where you borrowed them from. They can also be return 24/7 with our drop slots on the outside of both branches.

MyLibrary! App

Bring the library to your fingertips with the MyLibrary! app. Search the catalogue, see what materials you have checked out and on hold, view your fines and change your PIN. See a book for sale that you're interested in? Scan the barcode to see if we have it in our collection and place a hold! Download the MyLibrary! app from the App Store for Apple Devices, or Google Play store for Android devices.

Featured Collections

Wish the library was as easy to browse as a book store? Now it is!

Our Featured Collections are filled with non-holdable items to guarantee that hot new titles are available and at the ready. Come and see what is waiting for you! 

Courtesy Notices and Due Dates

You may sign up to receive courtesy notices about your items by email, text or phone. To change your notification preferences, visit us in person, call 705-728-1010 or use our Ask Us form. Staff will need your name, library card barcode, and cellphone number (for text alerts) or email address (for email alerts).  

Please note that you are responsible for returning items checked out on your account by the due date and courtesy notices are not intended to be your only method of tracking due dates. Failure to receive a courtesy notice does not change the due date.  Due dates can be checked by referring to the date due receipt you received at check-out, by logging into your MyBPL account, by visiting us in person, by calling 705-728-1010 (Option #2 for the automated account information and renewal system) or using our AskUs online form.

Renewing Items

You can renew items 24/7 through our automated phone renewal system or online through your MyBPL account. To renew by phone, call 705-728-1010 and choose Option 2 then Option 1.

During library hours, call 705-728-1010 to speak to a staff member, or visit us in person. 

Library material may be renewed with the following exceptions:

  • You’ve already renewed the item three times
  • Someone else has placed a hold on the item
  • You have $50.00 or more in replacement costs for billed library materials
  • The item is an Interlibrary Loan

 

Loan Periods and Fees

There are no late fees for any material including books, eBooks or eAudiobooks! Loan periods, limits and fees vary depending on the type of material you are borrowing. To see when the items you’ve borrowed are due, log in to your MyBPL account or call us at 705-728-1010.

  • A total of 80 items can be checked out on each card at one time, including up to 30 DVDs/Blu-Rays, 5 video games, 2 Library of Things items, and 2 Launchpads. 
  • Borrow up to 20 eBooks/audiobooks from cloudLibrary at a time.
    You can also get 4 Instant ebooks, audiobooks, movies, TV shows, Music CDs, or comics each month from Hoopla Digital.
  • eBooks and eAudiobooks simply disappear from your device at the end of your loan period.

Replacement costs for physical items will be billed to your account if the missing items are not returned within 21 days of the due date, or material is returned incomplete (i.e. with a DVD missing). Items will remain checked out on your card until the issue is resolved. Replacement charges will be reimbursed once the missing items are returned.
