Want to learn something new in 10 minutes? Our 4th annual How-to in 10 Festival takes place on Saturday, June 2 from 1-4pm at our Downtown Branch! This free all-ages festival offers 10-minute mini sessions with local groups and volunteers teaching skills to help you achieve personal growth. 

Presentations include how to: 

  • Boost your job hunting skills - Maureen Arbour, Georgian College Career Services
  • Make your kitchen fire-safe - Deputy Weber, Barrie Fire Services
  • Create a meal in 10 minutes - Barrie Community Health Centre
  • Perform defensive stances, redirection and conflict avoidance - Gary Pilon, Pro Spar Martial Arts
  • Edit family photos in Photoshop - Kate Forrest, Graphic Designer
  • Draw Henna tattoos - South Asian Association of Simcoe County
  • Draw a Chibi character - IBK, Manga Artist, Barrie Public Library
  • Use essential oils for healthy living - Cyndi Devereux 
  • Talk to your kids about sex - Shelly Skinner, Sexual Health Workshop Facilitator
  • Literacy & Learning Styles - Charlotte Parliament, SCDSB Adult and Continuing Education
  • Administer an EpiPen/anaphylaxis/allergic reactions - Claire Campbell/Rick Miller, St. John Ambulance
