The Barrie Public Library is pleased to announce that Lauren Jessop has been selected as the Library’s new Chief Executive Officer. Lauren joined the Barrie Public Library in December 2016 as the Director of Customer Experience, and has been serving as Acting co-CEO since March.
She has proven to be a valuable member of the BPL team, playing a key role in developing the Strategic Plan and Master Facilities Plan. The Board is confident in her ability to take on this new position leading the Library through an exciting time of growth and new initiatives.
Lauren brings a wealth of experience to the role, including more than 10 years of experience in public libraries in Ontario and Alberta. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Guelph and earned her Masters of Library and Information Science from the University of Western Ontario.
The Barrie Public Library Board is looking forward to working with Lauren and continuing to build the Library’s presence in the Barrie community.
