As of January 5, 2022, the Barrie Public Library remains open for in-person services, with slightly reduced hours.
Both Barrie Public Library locations remain open to browse our collections, access computers and printers, and to book spaces for studying and working. You can also print your vaccination receipt for free at either location (lamination services are not available). We do NOT have rapid tests available for distribution.
There is a maximum of 50 patrons Downtown and 25 at Painswick, and visits must be limited to 60 minutes or less.
Those looking for a low-contact option can book an Express Pick-up appointment 7 days a week to pick up library materials curbside. Returns are accepted 24/7 through the outdoor return slots. All programs have been transitioned back to virtual, and can be found on our Events Calendar.
Patrons visiting the library must follow public health guidelines, including wearing a face covering, staying 2m from others, sanitizing or washing hands, and staying home if sick.
