This fall, experience arts and culture like never before with Ontario Culture Days! From September 24 to October 24, we invite you to explore the Barrie Public Library's programs and celebrate the diversity of Simcoe County with our Community Voices series, Multilingual Book Club, English Conversation Circle, Book Chats, and more. 


Culture Days Highlights

Author Talk with Linda Rui Feng: Swimming Back to Trout River
Wednesday, October 20, 7-8pm, Online

Born in Shanghai, Linda Rui Feng has lived in San Francisco, New York, and Toronto. She's been twice awarded a MacDowell Fellowship for her fiction, and her prose and poetry have appeared in journals such as The Fiddlehead, The Kenyon Review, Santa Monica Review, and Washington Square Review. Swimming Back to Trout River is her first novel. Join us for a special presentation as we chat with Dr. Linda Rui Feng about her new book. Registration required


 Brain Builders with Traditional Songs & Stories
Tuesday, September 28, 10-10:30am

Join us online for songs, rhymes, activities, and lots of early literacy fun! Angelia Brooks, the EarlyON Indigenous coordinator will do a smudge and teach us some traditional drumming songs and stories. Registration required


Multilingual Book Club
Tuesday, September 28, 1-2pm

Broaden your reading horizons! Through book talks, share which corner of the world you're reading from, your favourite authors, and your culture. Registration required
