Creativity can be expressed in all sorts of different ways. It can be through music, dance, design, writing, and so much more! This year BPL’s Comic Con® would like to nurture your artistic talent through a number of exciting artistic speakers and programs.

Comic Con Feature: Natasha Donovan

Saturday, September 11, 2-2:45pm.

Natasha Donovan is a self-taught illustrator from Vancouver, BC, who has a focus on comics and children's illustration. Her work has appeared in two anthologies, and she has also illustrated the award-winning children's book The Sockeye Mother by Brett D. Huson, and the graphic novel Surviving the City by Tasha Spillett. Join us live as we talk with Natasha about how she grew her passion for art into an exciting career! Registration required.

Zoe Si is a cartoonist and illustrator in Vancouver, BC. She is incredibly creative and is always looking for new ways to tell her stories with her art. She spends her days making children's books, cartooning and writing for The New Yorker, freelance illustrating, and drawing comics of everything in sight. Join us as we chat with her live, to learn more about her process and her work. Registration required.

Body Decoration with a Tattoo Artist

Branden Burness is a professional tattoo artist specializing in Anime, Star Wars, and comic book tattoos. He is also the owner of the newly opened private tattoo studio, Hyrule Tattoos. He's been working in the industry for 6 years in various settings and has always been a huge fan of anything anime and pop culture. His favourites include Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, and Demon Slayer.

Enrique is a Venezuelan architect, graphic artist, and fine artist. With over 30 year's experience in artistic expression, he's worked producing architectural renderings, comics, political cartoons, illustrations for magazines and books, and more!  Writer Talk with Matt Ringel

Matt is from the Ottawa, Ontario region. He's the creator and writer of the FALLEN, a self-published mythological noir mini-series. He's also written Veiled, a cosmic horror, and Alice, a new Kickstarter series coming fall 2021. He's a part of Bad Beaver Comics, and in this video he shares his creative process for self-publishing!
