Our Painswick Branch is undergoing some exciting changes to serve you better! The project includes opening up the space and installing new carpeting, shelving and furniture.

Take a virtual tour of the new Painswick Branch.

“We are so excited to unveil Painswick’s new look when we’re able to reopen to the public,” said Lauren Jessop, CEO of the Barrie Public Library. “It’s really going to be a dramatic change to the space, and we know our members are going to love it.”

During the provincial Stay-at-Home Orders, we have been providing services including pickup of holds, returns of borrowed items, printing services, and retrieval of items requested at the door.

Starting June 9, these services will be limited while work is ongoing inside the building. Members can pick up holds at the staff entrance and return books 24/7 through the book drops.

“This refresh is about creating greater opportunities for our patrons to learn and discover,” continued Jessop. “The new layout will provide a better library experience with shelving that can be moved to host bigger events, and a collection that’s more enjoyable to browse.”

Painswick Hours: June 9 to June 27
Monday to Friday: 10am – 5pm
Saturday: 12pm – 5pm
Sunday: CLOSED

Our Downtown Branch will continue offering Express Services from the front doors during this time, including retrieving items requested at the door, printing, and themed Grab Bags.
