June is acknowledged throughout Canada as the month to celebrate the contributions and history of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Join us at BPL as we celebrate Pride throughout the month with a variety of programs for adults and children. If you're looking to learn more, we've compiled some resources to help.

Pride Positive Places

Barrie Public Library is proud to be a Pride Positive Place. As a community organization, we are dedicated to providing an inclusive space for all, and upholding anti-discrimination policies.

Programs

Join us at BPL as we celebrate Pride Month with programs for adults and children. Visit our Painswick Branch on Friday, June 9th for In Your Pocket, a screening series of short films by 2SLGBTQIA+ artists created using smart phones and webcams. This program is intended for an18+ audience.

Connect in a Safe and inclusive space that supports and unites the 2SLGBTQIA+ community at the Fierté Simcoe Pride Social on June 19th at the Downtown Library. 

Our Drag Queen Storytime returns June 24th at the Downtown Library! Justine is back, and will be sharing some favourite stories and songs. Have fun together with activities and rainbow crafts at this free, 30 minute interactive storytime. Registration is required and children must be accompanied by a caregiver. Space is limited due to program room capacity. 

Fierté Simcoe Pride is back at the Downtown Library on June 26th for Queer Craft Circle. This fun, casual program is suitable for beginners and all supplies are included.
