Not quite ready for the full in-Library browsing experience? We get it! We’ve got you covered with Express Pick-up.

A perfect solution for local seniors, busy families, patrons with health issues or anyone else who may find it problematic to come into the Library buildings. Although the Barrie Public Library is now open for safe browsing, borrowing, Internet computer use and printing, if you prefer not to enter the buildings, we offer Express Pick-up at the curb – a safe, convenient and worry-free way to collect your Library materials.

Express Pick-up is offered on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays at both branches of the Library. There are 3 simple steps to get the library materials you need, on the go!

  1. Search our catalogue or give us a call at 705-728-1010 to make a request for Library materials.
  2. Wait until you get a text, email or phone notification that your requested materials are available.
  3. You now have 14 days to pick up your requested items. You can go online to book an appointment for pick-up or call 705-728-1010. We’re happy to help! Just remember to choose your preferred pick-up location – Painswick or Downtown – to keep it easy.

On the day of your Express Pick-up we ask that you bring your Library card or I.D. and arrive outside the Library at the booked time. We’ll be waiting with your requested items in a bag, ready to go!

A reminder that items not picked up at the scheduled time will be checked-in and removed from your library account.

Over the past months, so much has changed for our community; the Library is pleased to offer a variety of safe browsing and borrowing options so that everyone feels comfortable reading, exploring and learning with us.
