The library building may be closed at the moment but you can still use our services - just in a slightly different way.

We have always had a number of books, audiobooks and other services that are available online and now it seems they have come into their own.

If you are a new user of our online resources, take a look at the Digital Library pages on our website to browse what we have:

e-Books and e-Audiobooks

The core of our online content is our e-books and e-audiobooks. These are books that you can browse or search for online. You can then borrow them and read or listen to them on a computer or mobile device.

How can I read these books?

  • Web Browser: You can use a web browser, like Chrome, Firefox or Edge to read any of our e-books or e-audiobooks on a home computer. For this option, you will need to be connected to the internet while reading.
  • Tablets & Phones: If you have a smartphone or tablet, such as an iPad, Android or Kindle Fire many of our e-book providers also have mobile apps that allow you to download a book and read it while you are offline.
  • eReaders: If you have an e-reader, like a Kobo or some Nook readers, you can use them to read e-books from cloudLibrary, our largest e-book provider, as well as Cantook Station, and EBSCOhost eBooks
Unfortunately, Kindle e-readers do not work with content from Canadian public libraries.
