We cannot believe it has already been 2 years since we opened the doors of our Holly Library!
With 52,683 checkouts and 6,976 members who call Holly their home branch, it's safe to say this new location has made a splash over the last two years.
“As we approach the second anniversary of the Holly Library location," said Darcy Glidden, Manager of Community Libraries. "The continued (and growing!) community support is evident from both our increased traffic and the staggering program numbers."
In the past two years more than 17,000 people have taken part in the 1139 programs that have run at the Holly location. "We have added to our traditional early literacy programs and introduced a very successful Mahjong Club," continues Glidden. "Many community members are still just discovering us – the number of new card registrations has blossomed with the launch of the Summer Reading Program. Tell your neighbours! Holly has an amazing range of collections, services, spaces, and programs. With over 30,000 titles for kids, teens and adults, there is a massive selection of brand-new books, movies, and magazines you can borrow. We also have laptops you can use while you're here, a printer and copier, workspaces, a bookable meeting room, and a kids area.
Join us on Friday, August 9th to celebrate two years of the Holly location! The Holly Anniversary Party will be a family-friendly fun including dragon crafts, face-painting, and the Outdoor BPL Discovery Area! Be sure to sign up for a library card when you're here - new members will receive a sweet treat from Tim Hortons (while supplies last).
