The Barrie Public Library is continuing its tradition of hosting the annual Barrie Dragon Boat Festival presented by Tim Hortons. This year's festival will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Heritage Park, marking the 21st anniversary of the event.
The library is excited to welcome a new decade of the Barrie Dragon Boat Festival, building on its growth from previous years. It is an exciting time in the community as the festival ignites the spirit of community and brings people together.
“Barrie’s Dragon Boat Festival is more than just a day of friendly competition - it’s a special event that brings people together while supporting important causes,” says Lauren Jessop, CEO of Barrie Public Library. “It welcomes participants of all skill levels, from businesses big and small to government offices, charities, and community groups."
Jessop adds, “I’ve heard from so many people that they had never been out on Kempenfelt Bay until they tried dragon boating. And that’s exactly why we’re here, to give people opportunities to learn, grow, and experience their city in new ways.”
